Job Summary: Utilize data analysis tools and techniques to facilitate optimum usage and movement of volumes of data. Strategically aligns Commerce data and data resources and leads the effort to monitor and optimize movement of data to help ensure stakeholders at all levels have access to information.
Primary Tasks:
Develop and administer strategies for the control and sharing of organization data resources and services.
Create interfaces between systems to extract, transform and load data from source systems into target systems.
Create or utilize various monitoring tools to assist monitoring of interfaces and applications.
Establish links across existing data sources and find new, interesting relationships between data sources.
Work with development team, database administrators, analytics team members and business partners to translate prototypes into production.
Assist in development of data management and application management policies and procedures.
Provide training and guidance to data and application stakeholders.
Manager Notes:
Focus on grabbing data, expanding their data warehouse, potentially building a data warehouse for commerce.
Acquiring data for our business so that our analytics team can access that data. Getting ready for reporting. Exchanging the data
Instead of targeting data, we sync an entire backup of the database and restore nightly.
Wants to see experience working with monitoring tools: Slack, AppDynamics, SolarWinds
Monitoring the applications themselves and potentially pulling logs from servers and running analytics against the logs. Log mining
Data driven, but not pure database developer. Has dealt with moving data, making sense of data. Developer type skills (log mining, scripting, help automate interfaces)
Will be cross functional working with multiple teams
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor' s degree in computer science, data science, computer programming or related field
5+ years' experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources
5+ years' experience using SSIS to integrate and move data between systems
5+ years' development experience in monitoring tools like Application Insights or AppDynamics (SolarWinds okay)
3+ years experience with Log mining tools: Splunk or similar (Loggly, etc.)
Experience working in a hybrid on-prem environment (cloud would be a nice to have)
2+ years experience development of and interacting with API' s
2+ years experience using software provisioning tools like Ansible (chef, puppet, etc.)
5+ years scripting experience with Shell (Python - nice to have)
Ability to demonstrate excellent people and communication skills
Must be highly motivated, self-initiating, and trustworthy
5-10 years of professional related experience
