JOB SUMMARY

The Pre-Weigh Technician is responsible for pre-weighing all raw material per specific batch card instructions.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews batch ticket schedules daily and takes proactive measures to ensure their completion

Organizes and prepares materials carefully to be measured

Weighs all ingredients precisely, timely, and efficient manner-based on formula

Records weight, lot numbers, and ingredients on batch tickets

Places tickets appropriately onto the finished pallet

Stages pallets for forklift operators to take to blending rooms

Cleans, seals, and labels all ingredients for return to the warehouse

Keeps all tools, containers, equipment clean, and in good condition

Maintains a sanitized work environment

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School diploma or GED

Experience

Two years of experience

Experience in food grade manufacturing facility required

Experience in pre-weigh required

Certification in Powered Industrial Trucks (PIT) such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc. preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities

Working knowledge of raw materials handling, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing

General knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) requirements as well as safety and risk standards within a manufacturing environment

General knowledge of cGMP systems for liquid and powder to secure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes

General knowledge of data entry into NetSuite or similar software

Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Keeps commitments; Commits to long hours of work when necessary to reach goals; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan.

Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

Writes clearly and informatively; Presents numerical data effectively; Able to read and interpret written information.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Generally, the work environment is that of a manufacturing plant, specifically one that manufactures food products.

May be required to work weekends, nights, or holidays as a regular part of the job.

The incumbent is:

Continuously required to stand

Occasionally required to walk or move from place to place

Continuously required to utilize hand and finger dexterity

Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

Continuously required to use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, or moving items

Continually required to talk or hear

Occasionally required to taste or smell

Continuously work near moving mechanical parts

Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals

While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Must

occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds

frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

occasionally lift and /or move more than 55 pounds with assistance

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and ability to adjust focus

Travel is not required.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

PPE may be required in certain areas as designated by OSHA

Due to safety hazards certain items as defined by OSHA may be prohibited in certain areas
