Responsibilities include supporting the global monthly close process, preparing key financial statement reports, serving as a technical accounting resource for applicable areas, partnering with other global teams to ensure proper accounting and reporting of activities from legal, management, and regulatory reporting perspectives. The ideal candidate is a proven manager that has a strong public accounting background and ability to navigate in a large global matrix organization.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESManager coordination and communication associated with the global monthly close process.Responsible for the establishment, monitoring and maintenance of robust accounting and reporting processes associated with the aggregation, elimination, and translation of the consolidated financial results.Establishes and maintains consistent accounting policies related to foreign exchange translation and revaluation.Supports and partners with cross-functional teams on special projects involving legal, management, or regulatory reporting requirements.Manages teams’ projects and deliverables to ensure work accuracy and departmental deadlinesare met.Establishes and maintains compliance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles byproviding technical accounting guidance on a variety of subjects.Arranges for and acts as primary/secondary contact with the organization’s internal and externalauditors on relevant accounting matters.Interprets current accounting policies and practices; including the implementation of new operating procedures to improve efficiency.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESProvides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area. Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Effectively recommends same for direct reports to next level management for review and approval. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires a minimum of five years related experience. Must also have experience working with global companies with international operations and public accounting or relevant experience. CPA designation is a plus.CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSESCPA or MBA (graduate degree) preferred, but not required (depending on experience).COMMUNICATION SKILLSExcellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous information to top management. Highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills. Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and interact effectively with top management, employees, representatives of federal and state governments, and external auditors. Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data and prepare clear, concise financial reports. Must have ability to convey complex financial issues to nonfinancial users.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGEBroad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), FinancialAccounting Standards (FASB), theories, & practices. Demonstrated experience & knowledge of financial issues & economic impact beyond technical knowledge. Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports. Advanced understanding of accounting and bookkeeping concepts. Develops and administers accounting and close practices to ensure optimum client satisfaction while guaranteeing CBRE financial interests are protected.REASONING ABILITYAbility to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex financial information and transactions and accounting principles. Ability to independently research complex accounting transactions/issues. Ability to problem-solve, both independently and working as a team. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIESStrong computer skills, including specific knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).Broad experience with large financial systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, Hyperion, OneStream etc. is desired. Knowledge of real estate service industry and terminology is helpful. OneStream?External and internal audit/SOX compliance.Overall understanding and experience in application of GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements including financial statements and financial statement footnotes.Self-motivated, strong work ethic and able to work independently with minimal supervision.Strong analytical and problem resolution skills, including the ability to research and simplify complex situations.Ability to interface with all levels of the organization to collect information and drive resolution.Must be detail-oriented, have a proactive approach and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.Must be able to effectively manage and prioritize critical deadlines.Ability to work in a team environment.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITYDecisions made with thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
