In addition to creating a single foundation for Boeing's approach to cloud computing these agreements represent a major commitment to providing digital tools that will empower Boeing's application development and hosting future.

As we execute on our Infrastructure and Operations 'cloud' strategy, we are looking for External Cloud Lead Technical Product Owner for our cloud environments build and collaboration tools, to support our team in Seattle, Washington, in a virtual capacity.

If you are a natural leader, a self-starter, passionate about cloud technology, thrive on problem solving, this could be interesting to you. You will work with major public clouds, utilizing automation and your technical abilities to design and operate environment build and development tools.

As the technical product owner, you will lead a team of developers who are laser focused on the Cloud build and collaboration tools giving our application development customers an always-available experience and doing so with an eye towards cost, efficiency, and security.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead Cloud Environment Services Tooling agile teams to enable the design, implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the multi cloud environment tooling stack
    • Leverage Common Environment Services SAFe methodology to manage planning and team work load.
    • Work with cross-functional cloud and infrastructure teams spread across multiple products and locations within Boeing and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones.
  • Provide guidance and assist in the creation of automation solutions using DevSecOps and other available tools to expedite updates and maintenance of environment tools
    • Ensure proper functioning of Continuous Integration Deployment (CICD) Pipeline Automation
    • Maintenance, Deployment, and Operation for Development Build Tools (Gitlab, Artifactory)
  • Lead, participate and share knowledge and best practices with developers and the developer community
  • Ensure Tier 1-3 problem escalation is in place for vendor liaison and troubleshooting technical issues
  • Ensure Tooling request assigned to the team have coverage and meet agreed to Service Level Agreement.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and incident reviews
    • Lead Incorporation of RCA improvement
  • Support overall program Information Security Management Program certifications and reviews
  • Lead analysis and resolution of any compliance or security findings for the tooling stack


This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in Seattle, Washington.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in cross-platform (Linux or Windows preferred) development using cloud technologies
  • 2+ years of experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (i.e. Artifactory, Gitlab)
  • Experience with Container technology
  • Experience in the planning and execution of upgrades and patches for operating systems and COTS software


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience in team building, leading cross-functional teams, motivating and engaging team member, and inspiring work groups through daily interactions
  • Experience with Scaled Agile Framework or Agile Methodologies
  • Experience with IaaS platform capabilities and services (cloud certifications preferred)
  • Experience managing collaboration tools (such as Confluence, Mattermost)
  • Experience managing Code Scanning Tools ( such as SonarQube, Xray, Coverity)


Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range: $89,460- $166,140
