The Senior Manager of Learning & Development will serve as a senior leader, developing the learning strategy as it relates to Paycoms employee and client learning programs. The position oversees a large team of learning professionals, including teams that develop content, train clients, train employees, and create learning tools for the organization. They partner with and advise department leaders across the organization to ensure learning programs are aligned with current business initiatives and outcomes and provide guidance for future organizational learning needs. They provide strategic direction to the learning organization and are committed to creating a culture of high-performance, collaboration, and innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide L&D expertise and lead innovation in the areas of program design, facilitation, and content development.
  • Develop collaborative and strategic relationships with department heads across the organization.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team of learning professionals including coaching and career development.
  • Build the forward looking roadmap, anticipating learning needs for all learning programs.
  • Communicate key insights, analysis, goals, objectives and overall strategy to executive level and frontline audiences.
  • Model a client-centric approach to ensure that learning programs are aligned with organizational and departmental initiatives and key outcomes.
  • Leverage technology to build best in class tools to be utilized by internal and external users of the Paycom system.
  • Provide L&D expertise and lead innovation in the areas of program design, facilitation, and content development.
  • Recognize and identify process deficiencies and make recommendations at the enterprise level.
  • Maintain a pulse on the industry and provide leadership and direction to the organization on best practices for learning and training.
  • Design and analyze metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Lead the strategy and direction for Paycom University and client webinars.
  • Partner with Marketing to reinforce branding and voice across all client-facing resources.

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelors degree in business administration, education, or similar field is required

Experience:

  • 8 years experience in a training program development or related role
  • 5 years experience in a leadership role. Formulating policy, developing and implementing new strategies is required.
  • Development and implementation of learning programs with proven business impact

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

  • Masters degree in business, education or communications
  • Professional certification, such as CPTM or CPLP

Experience:

  • Experience working and training employees in the high tech sector

Skills/Abilities:

  • Experience building and leading high performing teams
  • Highly developed executive presence, ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to consult with leaders at all levels, including C-level, to diagnose performance/capability gaps and recommend relevant solutions
  • Proven understanding of learning theory and data-driven approach to learning solutions
  • Ability to design effective learning programs and provide coaching in the areas of program design, facilitation, and evaluation.
  • Strong change management skills including the ability to vision cast and project manage large-scale business initiatives
  • Experience and ability to work with cross-functional teams, demonstrating leadership and influence
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate facilitators and learning content
  • Demonstrated forward-thinking, strategic thinking approach
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • A strong work ethic, be willing to work flexible hours including evening and weekend, travel to events
  • Act as a brand ambassador by modeling Paycom values in every interaction with clients, colleagues, and general public
