This provides DoD mission partners the latest scalable cloud technology and operates at Impact Level 5 and 6 of the Cloud Computing Security Requirements Guide. milCloud® 2.0 works to improve availability and performance of datacenter services and reduces the DoD’s total cost of ownership for delivering infrastructure services. GDIT delivers the milCloud 2.0 cloud service to the Department of Defense (DoD) as an on premise commercial cloud service, services offerings currently include or may include in the future: Infrastructure as a Service Platform as a Service Software as a Service Database as a Service Backup as a Service Systems administration and security supportGDIT is looking for a Senior Systems Administrator with network and hardware administration experience to provide support for the overall workload and execution of O&M tasks on the milCloud® 2.0 cloud within the Data Center. System Administrator responsibilities include: Patching servers/hypervisors, Installing and configuring software, hardware, and networks; responding to service outages, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting systems issues. Other duties may include scripting or light programming, project management for systems-related projects.This position will be located in Oklahoma City, OK GDIT site (military base). Some telecommuting will be permitted and physical work at the client site. This position may require being on-call as needed for afterhours support.System Administrator responsibilities include:

Install new software, troubleshoot, grant permissions to applications, and assist in training lesser experienced administrators.

Perform system updates, make recommendations on server configurations, and implement changes in multiple environments from test or development to production.

Respond to alerts, customer reported issues, escalate problems as required, and resolve significant matters exercising independent judgment and within established support practices.

Perform software installation, update and patch on Linux Servers and Linux based appliances.

Familiarity with security hardening concepts; reporting/remediation and experience writing POAMs

Deploy approved release packages and break-fix solutions in accordance with all enterprise architecture and configuration, change, and release management policies and procedures.

Monitor infrastructure, systems operations, and critical application services 24/7; provide information and statistics relevant to system limits on capacity, data storage, system utilization, etc.; respond to critical outages and restore services within agreed upon service levels.

Experience developing and interpreting detailed installation instructions and supporting documentation to effect system design deployments.

Provide technical expertise in the areas of system design, installation, configuration, tuning, capacity planning, troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Participate as necessary in the validation matrix role to independently test and validate solutions to ensure fulfillment of all business requirements, compliance of regulations and quality of solutions.

Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, and installs system-wide software.

Ability to perform work under continuous deadline pressure

Respond to Incidents/Requests/RFI tickets submitted by customers via ServiceNow to include Tier 1/2 level triage

Required Qualifications:

Active Top SECRET security clearance

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and least 5 years work experience with the design, installation, administration & maintenance of Linux systems (preferably RHEL v6.x, 7.x and CENTOS); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Sec+)

Demonstrated success in automating server builds, standardizing images, and managing Linux systems via central management tools such as Satellite, Ansible, or Puppet, etc.

Strong experience of Linux operating systems required (RedHat preferred)

Experience with deployment and configuration automation tools, such as Ansible or Puppet.

Strong experience in Unix/Linux infrastructure, SAN/NAS and backup technologies

Prior experience working on complex deployments involving automation.

Experience with deployment and administrative repositories for things like Ansible playbooks, Puppet manifests, Shell scripts, etc

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills needed to work with business partners, engineering, operations and vendors

Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a service oriented mindset

Be able to lift and move computer equipment within a data center

Quick learner, detail oriented; demonstrable thoroughness and strong ownership of work

Good team player with a strong willingness to participate and help others

Able to prioritize in a fast moving, high pressure, constantly changing environment; high sense of urgency

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a virtual team environment as well as independently

Desired Qualifications:

Experience with KVM / QEMU

Experience with managing work tasks via tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow

Experience with enterprise technologies such as Pure Storage, Splunk, CloudStack, Palo Alto
