PERSONAL APPEAL: NORMAN FAMILY LOOKING FOR LOVING, IN-HOME LPN OR RN (VERY FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE)

Our beautiful child is in need of more nursing care than our hardworking agency has been able to find, thanks to the nursing shortage. So, we decided to try to help them recruit the right person by making this personal appeal.

Bri has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy - and the issues that go along with it. She spends almost all of her time in bed (because of problems that make spending time up in her wheelchair too much for her, most days). She is dependent upon others for all of her needs.

She communicates with smiles, coos, facial expressions and vocalizations. She is almost always either happy, VERY happy, or thrilled with life, in general - and the people around her, in particular. As one of our nurses has said: Bri struggles, but she doesnt suffer. She is a truly joyful, content little person.

She weighs about 75 lbs and is the size of an 8-10 year old, making her care much less physically-taxing than care for most bed-bound patients.

If you become one of her nurses, you will be able to work part-time or full-time, with a very flexible schedule. In fact, you will almost be able to set your own hours (with about 36 hours exception every week).

So, this could be a wonderful fit for a nurse with children in school, with another job, with caregiving responsibilities for a parent - or even a nurse with a special-needs child and some of the unpredictability that can come along with having such a child.

Youll work for a very good agency and (according to our nurses) enjoy having less stress, less documentation, and being able to focus on nursing one patient in the warm, calm, welcoming environment of our home.

We have 3 very small dogs and a little, affable cat, which makes time here cozy, but means we probably arent a good choice for someone with animal allergies.

We know that there must be one or more nurses out there who are looking for a situation just like ours.

If you are interested in learning more and perhaps meeting Bri, please contact Meghan M. at Preferred Pediatric Home Health: 405-848-7337.

If you dont feel this is right for you, please share this link with any nursing friends you think might possibly be interested.

Thanks so much for reading this ad and (we hope) reaching out to learn more!

Bris Mom

PS: A note from one of Bris nurses: Bri is the most adorable, delightful child you can imagine. If we put this child on a television commercial, nurses would be lined up to care for her in her home. She has a million-dollar smile, the cutest little sense of humor, and radiates positive emotion (from calm to remarkably joyful, and even giddy). Her family is very caring, and the home situation is stable and supportive. Her mother is actually heroic, and is legitimately desperate for more help, as Bri must be attended by an alert person at almost all times, and the under-staffing situation is so severe that mom is chronically sleep-deprived and often unable to leave the room to take care of personal needs, other family needs, and tasks most of us dont think twice about handling with ease. Please consider meeting with our excellent home-health agency - or even passing this along to another nurse. Again, thats Meghan M. at Preferred Pediatric: 405-848-7337 or e-mail her at mmcconville@preferredpediatric.com Thanks!
