The QUIKRETE® Companies, the leading producer of packaged concrete and related products in the U.S. is seeking to fill the position of Forklift Operator Laborer at our Oklahoma City, OK location.

Persons in this position operate various makes and models of forklifts used to transfer materials used in the manufacturing process of QUIKRETE products. Some manual labor is also required. Employees must be 18 years old and be in good physical condition

Employee will report to the Production Manager. Teamwork with other company supervisors and other employees is a must.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operates various makes and models of Forklifts.

Performs daily preventive maintenance check on forklift prior to use and completes written checklist.

Helps maintain yard organization and helps with housekeeping, up keep of shipping ground outside and inside.

Must comply with all safety rules and regulations at all times. Must ensure pallets are stacked safely in warehouse.

Operates shrink-wrap gun and/or stretch wrap machine.

Must perform housekeeping duties and reclaim all usable material.

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be 18 years of age.

Must be in good physical condition.

Must pass an OSHA certification exam for Forklift Operators License.

Must be able to operate and work around industrial machinery.

Must be able to wear respirators, safety glasses, and or hearing protection in required areas.

Must be able to work with others with limited supervision.

Must be able to take direction in a manufacturing environment with ever changing demands.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Varying weather conditions in the local area including: temperature extremes, dust, rain, wind, and snow.

Exposure to gasoline, diesel fuel, motor oils, anti-freeze, cement dust, and electrical systems.

Hearing protection and respiratory use required in designated locations.

Requires the physical endurance to work 50-60 hours per week over a period of 5 to 6 days.

Requires the ability to climb heights (steps, ladders, and ramp walkways with hand rails).

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:

Legs, feet, body and trunk are constantly used to stand, walk, turn, and twist upper body.

Requires the ability to constantly use hands and arms to reach, grasp, finger, and feel.

Hands, arms, legs, feet body and trunk are occasionally used to climb heights up to 10 feet.

Legs, feet, body and trunk are intermittently used to sit, squat, crouch/stoop and bend.

It is intermittently required to use hands, arms, legs, feet, body, and trunk to carry, lift/lower, push/pull up to 100 lbs.

Must have good vision and hearing (corrected if necessary).

Must be able to handle the psychological stress of employee supervision, extended work hours, production demands, and equipment breakdowns or malfunctions.

Experience:

Forklift: 1 year (Preferred)

Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred .

Bilingual is preferred.
