Boeing Defense Space and Security is currently looking for a Systems Engineering Program Engagement Manager (Level K)to join their team in one of the following locations: St. Louis, MO, Everett, WA, Ridley Park, PA, Colorado Springs, CO, Huntsville, AL, Mesa, AZ, El Segundo, CA, or Oklahoma City, OK. This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in the listed location options.

This position will focus on supporting the 2nd Century Enterprise Systems (2CES) Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Requirements management effort to deploy the DESE and DOORS tool suites to programs across BDS, BCA, BGS, and ETT. The manager will lead an experienced group of program engagement focals coverings a wide variety of Systems Engineering functions to support BDS programs ensuring our products meet performance requirements and are delivered to meet market and/or customer needs. It also ensures support to those programs, gathers new requirements for program success and works with the DESE capability teams to prioritize the new capability development. The candidate should have experience in the Systems Engineering activities through the product development life cycle (such as requirements development, system design, verification planning and testing, etc.). The successful candidate will work in a fast paced and dynamic environment and work both independently and as part of management team across the Boeing Enterprise to support the development and implementation of modern systems engineering practices across BDS programs. Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to resolve multi-functional technical issues are also ideal. The individual will be a self-starter, comfortable with identifying and solving problems, able to understand the big design picture (larger than just MBSE), and have good interpersonal skills. Occasional travel to customer and teammate locations is required. Candidate will also ensure customer satisfaction on all tasks. Responsibilities include development and presentation of team results to Boeing Leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with MBSE Steering team and program engagement focals to lead the standup of SE approaches and implementations on BDS programs.
  • Provide technical Systems Engineering and Model Based engineering leadership within the team and to programs across Boeing.
  • Lead Functional Thread Workshops with programs across the enterprise to help identify, design, and record highly sophisticated/meaningful design threads.
  • Program Outreach and Communication with MBSE users, System Architecture Leads, and Division Systems Engineering leaders.
  • Identification and prioritization of program needs to improve 2CES MBSE tool suite.
  • Lead the Engineering Help Desk to support program issues with MBSE tools and methods.
  • Up to 25% travel.


This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelors or higher in an engineering or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a systems engineering role (formally or in-formally.)


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering: SysML, Cameo, and/or DESE tool Suite.
  • Experience performing systems engineering on BDS Programs.
  • Experience engaging with programs to implement MBSE on the program.

Summary pay range: $115,290 - $214,110
