Job Description:

No manager contact. Secret clearance needed post start. Possibility for extension; prefer local candidates.

Assists with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems. Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system. Assists with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met. Supports software project management and software supplier management functions. Selects, tailors and deploys processes and tools; establishes metrics. Performs software research and trade studies. Troubleshoots software issues. Works under general supervision.

A successful candidate will be able to work virtually with other team members to help develop and deliver analytics solutions to support military platforms like F/A-18, F-15, etc. Primary tasks would include assisting with the implementation, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for data analytics related software (primarily web-based) applications; development and maintenance of code; and integration of software components into fully functional software systems. Other tasks may include assisting with test procedures and documenting test results to ensure software system requirements are met.

Position Responsibilities:

With general supervision, develops, documents, maintains and unit tests code by utilizing advanced software development environments and programming languages such as C#.

Develops, documents and maintains software design by applying established methods and practices.

Performs troubleshooting of defects. Collaborates with others to propose solutions to problems.

Gathers and organize data for use in plans, schedules and estimates.

Assists in the specification and maintenance of software requirements.

Integrates and compiles software components into builds. May test limited component level software in the target environment.

Documents deployed processes and tools and collect metrics.

Performs troubleshooting of operational and integration issues. May gather and document data on subject matter.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science

2+ years of professional experience programming in C# is required.

1+ years of professional experience with Software Testing or Software Verification

Experience (1+ years) in web development programming using AngularJS, ASP.NET MVC (or equivalent) and JavaScript is also required.

Experience (1+ years) working with SQL databases (including writing SQL scripts) is also required.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Experience with any of the following is desired:

Programming experience in any of the following languages is desired but not required: AngularJS, React, SpringBoot, Python, .NET Core, MS WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation), and/or Tableau.

Experience working with Oracle databases is also desired.

Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS) and GitLab is desired.

Experience with Agile/Scrum

Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes

Experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) or other cloud development environments

Education & Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
