Job Description
We are a growing hardwood flooring company looking for a reliable, hardworking, trustworthy, experienced hardwood floor installer, sander, finisher to join our growing team.
Specializing in hardwood flooring requires basic carpentry skills; the capability to measure and cut precisely; and the ability to correctly use power saws, sanders, flooring nailers and hand tools correctly. The specialist should have an in-depth understanding, not only of hardwoods, but also of the types softwoods used in flooring, in addition to being able to install engineered hardwood flooring. Skill in matching and blending wood stain, and the ability to flawlessly finish unfinished flooring, is imperative.
Installation
The hardwood flooring specialist’s main task is to lay and finish the flooring. Because the subflooring and the floor system below can affect the final product, a good flooring specialist will check and ensure the structural integrity of the floor. If the subflooring is not adequate, the specialist will either install or repair the subflooring, or direct a framing contractor to do so. During installation, the specialist will employ techniques to prevent squeaking, which is common in some types of wood floors.
Repair and Refinish
New installation might comprise most of the hardwood flooring specialist’s work, but there will be a substantial number of repair and refinish flooring projects as well. Part of the attraction of solid wood is the ability to refinish it many times over the years, each time creating a fresh, new-looking floor. As part of refinishing, the floor specialist replaces damaged planks, sands away the old finish and applies new stain and topcoat.
REQUIREMENTS:
MUST be Knowledgeable with Installing hardwood, LVP, laminate and prefinished wood flooring products.
MUST be Knowledgeable in "Sand & Finish " Process
Valid Driver License (with no major violations within 3 years)
MUST be able to pass a Background Check
MUST have own Reliable Transportation (Truck a plus)
Minimum of 5 years experience (Hummel)
Ability to use Power Tools
MUST CONSISTENTLY show up for work Every day! Be Reliable and Prompt
Pay is based on SKILL, SPEED and PRODUCTIVITY
MUST speak English
