Warwick Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Technician/RVT to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, providing support to veterinarians and ensuring the comfort and safety of our animal patients. This role requires a blend of technical skills and interpersonal abilities to assist in various veterinary procedures while maintaining a clean and organized environment.
Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
Perform laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis.
Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian.
Monitor the health and behavior of animals in our care, reporting any concerns to the veterinarian.
Maintain accurate medical records for each animal treated.
Assist with X-ray procedures when required.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
Familiarity with laboratory procedures related to veterinary medicine.
Ability to perform animal catheterization when necessary.
Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Willingness to learn new skills related to veterinary practices.
