Function of the Job:
The Preschool Teacher plans developmentally appropriate, Christian activities in advance. The teacher supervises the children in their care and respond throughout the day to the childrens needs for safety, guidance and Christs love. The teacher works closely with the co-teacher to provide collaboration and direction to support the function of the classroom.
Supervision:
Teachers work under the supervision of the On-site Director. Teachers are reviewed for quality of performance and compliance with the beliefs of the church and policies of the preschool.
Duties Performed:
1. Meets all physical and emotional needs of the children in the classroom
2. Creates and implements developmentally appropriate lesson plans that meet the needs of all students in the classroom.
3. Uses developmentally appropriate guidance techniques that meets the needs of the whole child.
4. Complies with DHS regulations
5. Greets and welcomes parents and children each day
6. Creates relationships with each parent in order to meet the needs of the whole child and to communicate important information
7. Attends devotions every morning
8. Attends required activities, workshops, conferences and meetings
9. Uses Best Teaching Practices to meet the needs of all students
Qualifications:
1. Active member of a local Christian church
2. A bachelors degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or related field preferred, or three-years classroom experience
3. Able to lift 45 pounds
4. Able to sit on the floor for short periods of time to interact with children
5. Able to effectively communicate with children, co-workers and parents
Specific Requirements:
1.SIDS Certified (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome)
