This includes employee or non-employee criminal activity as it relates to the Company as well as activity that violates company policy and procedures. Investigations involve, but are not limited to; thefts, fraud, white collar crime, vandalism, forgery, embezzlement, workplace violence, assaults, and burglaries. Able to present investigative findings to business leaders.In addition, Investigators also complete physical security assessments and may be responsible to assist in project management activities for new construction and renovations related to physical security needs. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. Travel as needed to assist in investigations, and training as appropriate for others on the team. Acts as resource for colleagues with less experience. The successfully hired candidate may or may not conduct these tasks regularly.Core Responsibilities-Plans, organizes and conducts difficult and complex investigations of alleged suspected violations of laws and regulations concerning criminal and general investigations, fraud, and computer crimes and provides technical investigative services.-Develops investigative strategy, interviews personnel and vendors, interrogates suspects for admissions, documents investigations with evidence so that criminal and/or civil procedures are facilitated.-Maintains a liaison with the organizations Law Department and local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in order to achieve maximum results and support business efforts.-Plans and conducts investigations, investigates suspected criminal activities which have significant impact on health, safety, operational mission, or fiscal/ethical integrity.-Establishes links between suspects and other violators by piecing together evidence uncovered from a variety of sources.-Analyzes and evaluates investigative progress to reassess priorities, leads and direction.-Plans and directs surveillance as needed to determine places, persons, or activities to be observed, time required, and number of investigators needed.-Recruits and utilizes informants.-Plans and times surveillance, involving the use of local law enforcement agencies.-Participates in joint task forces, coordinates investigative activity with other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies as needed to resolve jurisdictional problems in accordance with established policies.-Testifies before grand juries, courts and administrative hearing on investigation results.-Prepares clear, comprehensive and cohesive investigative reports and statistical data in a timely manner.-Evaluates the latest products and techniques in communications and other technical equipment utilized in investigations and provides advice and consultations in their use.-Organizes and maintains a library of locally developed and commercial software to support investigation programs.-May act as a point of contact for outside vendors.-Provides guidance regarding the obtaining and handling of circumstantial, cold, and/or fragmented evidence.-Based on case results, recommends corrective action aligned with operational goals and objectives.-Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.-Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.-Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Job Specifications:Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or EquivalentField of Study: Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business, or Homeland SecurityGenerally requires 5-7 years’ related experiencePreferred Skills and Other:- CFE preferred- Wicklander-Zulawski or Reid certification- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including ability to interact with employees, management at all levels, legal and compliance, and law enforcement.- Experience conducting interviews and in-depth investigations.- Excellent judgement with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.- Comfortable speaking to large groups to provide security related trainings to a variety of business groups.- Works and multi tasks with a sense of urgency.- Proficient with Microsoft Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn other computer software systems, such as Comcast’s Case Management system.- Advises leaders on ways to improve business practices and other operational matters.
