Compass Commercial Construction Services is seeking an honest, organized professional with experience in construction, cost accounting and administration. Duties include AP, AR, payroll, and project administration support. Looking for a person with integrity and strong attention to detail. Required experience: 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
POSITION SUMMARY: Perform construction accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, electronic banking, some payroll functions and financial reporting. Also provides administrative duties including contract and subcontract agreements, subcontractor admin management. Assists construction manager with detailed and accurate accounting of construction jobs. Works well with construction team members to complete tasks in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. Job costing of accounts payable. Prepares customer invoices and posts receivables to proper accounts. Reconciles bank accounts. Monitors accounts Assists customers with accounting questions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Accurately performs accounting duties for multiple construction jobs. Job records are kept current to facilitate budget monitoring and timely billings. Works and communicates well with construction manager, project managers and job superintendents. Responsible for weekly processing of accounts payables to sub-contractors, vendors and related job expenses. Work with Project Managers to develop subcontract agreements material and equipment set-up.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Cost - Code, enter and process accounts payables
Weekly and monthly check runs
Maintain Job Files
Assist construction manager with customer billing and reconciling customer charges
Perform Project Administration support functions
Prepare appropriate schedules and reports with construction management team members
Other duties as assigned
Manage subcontractor accounts (current insurance, licensing)
Produce subcontractor agreements with Project Manager
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required solid bookkeeping skills
Knowledgeable of general ledger and job cost accounting
Effective execution of accounting work and schedules
Organizational skills with attention to detail
Administrative word processing, email, filing and data management skills
Research and data reduction skills
Reasoning ability, mathematical ability, and logical thinking skills
Works effectively with a team
Effective time management skills
Proficient in QuickBooks accounting software
Proficient in MS Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
3 years accounting and administrative experience
Construction experience preferred
Customer Service Experience
