TITLE: Controller

DAYS: 260 Days a year (including holiday/vacation)

POSITION:
The Controller supervises the accounting team and oversees financial activities of the District to ensure accuracy and consistency of accounting information and process. Under the direction of the CFO, the Controller provides supervision and technical direction on a wide range of accounting operations and issues including accounting systems, internal controls, budget and audit preparation and financial reporting. The Controller is regarded as a senior level accountant, with orientation towards coordination of all the financial transactions that are integrated into the accounting records of the District.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelors degree required in Accounting, Business, Finance or related area. Equivalent experience specializing in Accounting may be considered.
Experience: Minimum five to eight years successful and progressively responsible accounting experience required. Experience in public education or public accounting preferred.
