Compensation: $19.10-24.06 DOQ (plus .50 for Bilingual Spanish), Union represented
Hours: 40 hours/week - Subject to normal school year furloughs (approximately six weeks per year)

NeighborImpact Head Start/Early Head Start Overview
NeighborImpact Head Start and Early Head Start provides free quality preschool and social services to 784 children and families from pregnant woman to children ages 0-5 throughout Crook and Deschutes County. The program provides quality classroom learning in addition to resources that enable access to health and dental care, family support, nutritional meals, family engagement, social/emotional and physical development, nutrition and more. Head Start is actively working toward expanding the implementation of full day preschool in Central Oregon communities to support school readiness. Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The Early Head Start Home Educator is responsible for planning and implementing a program, which includes health, social, emotional and developmental activities to meet the needs of children and families in a home-based setting.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EHS Home Educator I: Have a minimum of a current Home-Based Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or comparable credential or equivalent coursework as part of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. In addition, one-year relevant experience providing social services, promoting healthy growth and appropriate child development with infants and toddlers
EHS Home Educator II: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, or Family Development or related field
EHS Home Educator III: BA/BS or Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Family Development or related field
Experience in Early Childhood, social services, health or family support programs providing parent education and support preferred
Experience planning developmentally appropriate activities for infants and toddlers preferred
Education or experience in working with adults in a helping, teaching and supervisory capacity preferred
Ability to make frequent significant decisions to assure developmental progress and proper guidance of infant and toddler in a patient, gentle, kind manner
Ability to rapidly survey environment and move quickly to ensure infants’ and toddler’s safety
Prior to date of hire and thorough employment, certification of the following are required: valid driver’s license, proof of current auto insurance, access to reliable transportation, Oregon Food Handler’s Card, COVID 19 vaccination, current enrollment in the Oregon’s Central Background Registry and within 60 days of hire, Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification
