Education and Experience
Required: 2 years of customer service experience.
Preferred: One year certificate from college or technical school; six months related experience and/or training in medical billing office; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CORA is a growing radiology group of 26 physicians. This progressive practice features state-of-the-art interventional, CT, MRI, PET, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and tomographic mammography equipment. Reading is within a PACS environment across the enterprise. Nighthawk supports after-hours emergent reads. The radiology practice serves eight hospitals and more than 20 clinics in the Central and Eastern Oregon communities.

Job Summary
Compiles and tracks the outstanding balances owed to our facility, maintains payment records, makes payment arrangements and collects on past due accounts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:
This position requires a high level of attention to detail and a low error rate, as the consequences of even a minor mistake can be significant for patients and providers. In addition, this position requires regular, reliable attendance.
Must have the ability to work cohesively with others.
Must be comfortable using a computer, billing software and basic office machinery.
Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills displaying professional phone etiquette.
Must have excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask.
Creates insurance claims and patient statements.
Works bad addresses.
Responds to incoming customer calls, faxes, mail, and e-mail.
Helps patients at the front desk who have insurance questions or issues.
Sends delinquent accounts to collection agencies.
Processes refunds to insurance companies and patients.
Works contract accounts.
Processes VISA payments.
Evaluates and processes hardship accounts.
Responds to W9s.
Works job ques to ensure patient account follow-up is complete.
Performs training as requested by team leader.
Re-bills insurance companies or other third parties to secure payment for patients.
Makes recommendations to management for write-offs.
Taking and updating customer information, data entry, billing and payments.
Others duties as assigned
Typical Physical Demands
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 80% of the time. The candidate must move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer. Frequently communicates with patients and staff. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must have the ability to use a computer to access patient information. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds. Constantly works indoors.
