Full-time Residential Monitors needed for New Leaf Academy, a year-round therapeutic boarding school for girls ages 10-15. Diagnosis of students may include: Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar, ADHD, trauma, grief, loss and attachment issues. Students typically have difficulty regulating emotions and containing their behaviors.
Our program offers individual, recreational, group and family therapy. We support the growth of our students not only through therapy but also through a challenging academic setting and a variety of experiential education trips such as camping, rafting and skiing.
We are looking for experienced mentors who can support young girls emotional and academic growth. This is a great job if you are interested in human services or the mental health field. Ample opportunity for training, staff development and promotions.
Responsibilities include:
Overall supervision, care and guidance of the students in the home.
Maintain a high level of safety while facilitating activities and tasks throughout the daily schedule.
Guide students through their daily living routines while helping them to develop self-care skills.
Build appropriate relationships with youth while maintaining healthy boundaries and implementing program rules and policies.
Qualification Preferred
Candidate must have experience working with youth.
Experience working with youth with emotional and behavioral issues or challenges preferred.
Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player are required.
Candidate must possess a valid drivers license and good driving record.
Position is full-time, year-round (including holidays) and starts at $14/hour.
Schedule:
Tuesdays 2:30-10pm
Wednesdays 11am-10pm
Thursdays 12:30-10pm
Fridays 12:30-10pm
Total hours/week: 37.5
