Job Summary

Radiologic technologists operate radiologic equipment and perform radiologic procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease. They prepare radiograph equipment, position patients correctly and accurately capture the requested diagnostic images.

Education and Experience

State License, ARRT Certification, CPR Certification and Current CE’s. DEXA experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Other duties may be assigned

This position requires regular, reliable attendance. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy, as the consequences of even a minor mistake can be significant for patients and providers.

1. Performs x-ray exams in accordance with established protocols and procedures.

2. Interacts with radiologists to insure quality exam images and patient care.

3. Provides patient care and education instruction to patients.

4. Communicates to all x-ray technologists’ quality issues, equipment issues, protocol changes, and procedure changes.

5. Operates radiograph imaging equipment.

6. Assists radiologist or R.A. performing imaging and invasive procedures.

7. Verifies patient’s record is up to date and accurate. Makes appropriate changes in computer system and on patient’s medical record.

8. Assists with other clinic needs, including laundry, scheduling, telephone inquiries and data entry.

9. Performs other duties as necessary and assigned to keep the department running smoothly.

10. Must be flexible with work schedule as hours and/or location may vary.

11. Required to maintain current state license through OBMI and ARRT

12. Must have the ability to work cohesively with others.

About Central Oregon Radiology Assoc., P.C.

CORA is a growing radiology group of 27 physicians. This progressive practice features state-of-the-art interventional, CT, MRI, PET, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, and tomographic mammography equipment. Reading is within a PACS environment across the enterprise. Nighthawk supports after-hours emergent reads. The radiology practice serves eight hospitals and more than 20 clinics in the Central and Eastern Oregon communities.

Typical and Physical Demands

Requires full range of body motion. Sit/Stand - Must be able to remain in a standing position for up to 90% of the time, Move/Traverse –Consistently needs to move about the inside of the exam room and office for patient care, Use hands/fingers to handle or feel- Often operates a computer and Medical equipment, Position self (to) move- Constantly positions self to maintain computers in the office and exam room as well as positions patients for exams. Communicate, Detect, Converse with, Discern, Convey, Express oneself, Exchange information – Frequently communicates with patients, physicians and co-workers must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations, Detect, Determine Perceive, Identify, Recognize, Judge, Observe, Inspect, Estimate and assess- Must be able to visually see patient to position, see changes in patients well-being, see computer to enter information and make changes, Move, Transport, Position- Frequently moves equipment and patients of varying weight.
