Manufacturing Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION: In this role, you will be primarily responsible for the assembly & fabrication of self-propelled vehicles that are used for moving helicopters on the ground.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: To include but not limited to the following:

- Installation of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components onto self-propelled vehicles

- Assembly of electrical control boxes, including applying connectors to cables, routing cables in the control box

- Test the functionality of the vehicles after assembly

- Shrink wrapping and/or construction of wood crates for shipping the vehicles

- Safely operate a forklift for receiving incoming materials and reposition the vehicles during assembly

- Operation of various pieces of manufacturing equipment, including a mill, lathe, belt sander, hydraulic press, bandsaws, plasma cutting table, etcetera to prepare parts for assembly or subsequent processing

- Install & purge hydraulic cylinders and hydraulic hoses

- Assist customers via phone & e-mail to troubleshoot their vehicles

- Document assembly procedures and identify opportunities for improvement in assembly procedures or vehicle design

- Minor equipment maintenance and housekeeping of the work area

JOB QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE AND TECHNICAL SKILLS:

- Prior experience in manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical repairs or a comparable field

- Experience operating manufacturing equipment listed above

- Experience with carpentry would be helpful

- Experience with low-voltage DC systems and components, including relays, contactors, motor controllers, and wireless communication

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel

- Able to safely operate a forklift

WORKING CONDITIONS:

- Works primarily in a machine shop environment.

- Will on a continuous basis stand, walk, bend and lift up to 65 lbs.

- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

WAGES & BENEFITS:

- $26 to $34 per hour depending on experience
