JTS Animal Bedding, a small Redmond company, is seeking a personable and experienced sales person to source new customers and maintain relationships with current customers.
Job Description:
Communicate with existing customers by phone and e-mail to take orders, discuss product offerings and pricing, maintain relationships, keep track of their typical product usage, etc.
Work with freight companies to assign new loads, track loads in transit, and troubleshoot shipping problems as they arise
Source new customers by talking to current customers, researching new businesses in the horse industry, work up quotes for potential customers, send samples, etc.
Requirements:
Two or more years of experience in similar sales role
Excellent skills in building relationships over phone and by e-mail
Computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
Ability to visualize customers geographic locations and anticipate their needs for planning/logistics purposes
Ability to keep various criteria in mind at the same time to avoid shipping conflicts when scheduling, etc.
Occasional travel (3 to 4 times per year, flying and/or driving) required
Knowledge of wood shavings or logging NOT required”we are looking for sales skills first and will train for our specific business; knowledge of horses is a big plus
Small company, so cross-training will be required. Basic math skills, ability to learn a variety of tasks quickly, and being detail-oriented are key.
