Position will be responsible for all aspects of running a retail plant nursery.
JOB DUTIES:
⢠Management and Leadership: Hire, train, manage and lead a retail team, manage to quality work standards and motivate employees. Write and administer annual appraisals, Manage scheduling, payroll approvals, and customer service training. Ensure safety standards are met. Exhibit our core values every day.
⢠Product and Process Management: Maximize time, cost and quality in the retail store through: regular inventory cycle checks and inventory counts. Oversight of product movement from buying, receiving, storing, pulling, and merchandising. Assist in the propagating, cultivating, and harvesting of horticultural species.
⢠Problem Solving & Delivering Results: Analyze, diagnose and correct problems as they occur. Walk all interior and exterior tables and displays daily. Ensure accuracy with our point of sale system. Follow site plans for min/max stocking.
⢠Financial Management: Assist in the creation of the annual budget, manage the budget for the retail store, analyze daily, weekly, and monthly sales figures to ensure profitability. Monitor the performance of key product lines, manage all controllable costs.
⢠Customer Experience: Ensure the premises and service levels are maintained to excellent standards, deal with customer inquiries and complaints in a professional way.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's Degree preferred
5-7 years successfully leading teams within a retail environment or operations required
Horticulture/garden center experience is preferred
Must have a knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs annuals and perennials
Must have knowledge of point of sale systems
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able work in inclement weather
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Available to work 6 days a week during peak season
