Tetherow is seeking a Bell Service Team Member! Bell Service is responsible for providing a positive first and last impression to guests as they arrive and leave the hotel. When servicing guests, Bell is responsible for ensuring each guest has a great experience when staying at the resort. The position also involves assisting guests with their luggage, recreational equipment, and packages upon arrival and departure and for arranging or providing transportation when necessary, using Tetherow vehicles or outside contractors.

General Duties:

Greet all guests upon arrival.

Assist guests with luggage to their rooms promptly when checking in and upon checking out.

Direct guests to parking areas.

Inform incoming guests on the following while assisting them to their room: storage area; restaurant hours of operation, location of vending/ice machines; events of the evening; health club information; emergency procedures; equipment and exit paths.

Once in guest room, provide the guest with the following information: basic telephone instructions; television channels; heating and air conditioning; energy mgmt. system; door lock and key use; room directory, etc.

Remove trash, papers, cans, bottles, cups, etc., in lobby area between housekeeping runs.

Attend department meetings when scheduled.

Possess knowledge of the community and area in which the hotel is located to assist guests with information on special events (sporting, theater, movies, entertainment, and restaurants).

Keep storage closet clean and neat.

Polish and clean luggage carts daily.

Submit all lost and found articles accompanied by a Lost and Found report.

Deliver special request items to hotel guests, such as faxes, messages, packages, flowers, wine, express mail, hair dryers, etc., and assist house person(s) as needed.

Assist guests into automobiles or taxicab.

Ensure that the front entrance to Guest Services Building (GSB) is kept free and clear for guest arrival and in the case of an emergency.

Direct guests to various meeting rooms.

Provide other assistance to guests as necessary to ensure the highest quality of service.

Arrange transportation if needed using Tetherow vehicles, taxi, or town car services.

Education/Experience/Competencies:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must complete driver's insurability form and have clean driving record with no accidents, no moving violations, no DUIIs, or felonies.

Ability to handle challenging situations which will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to diffuse anxiety and collect info to resolve problems.

Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

Possess knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and act on information gleaned.

Develop constructive and cooperative working relationship with others, and reinforce them over time.

Qualifications:

Must complete a OSP (Oregon State Police) background check- Drivers cannot have any felony convictions on their OSP background check

DMV Driver History- Drivers cannot have alcohol related entries, accidents, moving violations, DUIIs, or felonies on their DMV Record

Complete a drug test prior to hire

Must complete drivers insurability form

Driver Duties:

Inspect, clean and service (e.g. oil, gas) the van(s).

Maintain mileage log books.

Run errands for the official business of the hotel staff.

Pick up trash from parking lot.

Any other duties assigned by Supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to speak and hear.

Close and distance vision.

Identify and distinguish colors.

Frequent sitting with some standing and walking.

Frequently lifts/carries up to 5 lbs.

Ability to stoop, kneel, grasp, lift, push, and pull weights up to 50 lbs.

Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.

Working Conditions:

Varying schedule to include evenings, holidays and extended hours as business dictates.

Must be able to work outside in inclement weather.
