Status: Part-Time

Hours: 0.5 FTE

Reporting Structure: Lead Resident Ambassador

Wage: $13.50 - $14.50/hr

Start Date: July 1st, 2019

Position Overview:

As a Resident Ambassador, a major aspect of this role is supporting the office and resource centers for our residents, as well as provide after-hours oversight and response. Additionally, this role services the student services function of the organization, serving as a liaison between residents and staff to meet the needs of the community. Certain intentional programming and events are included in the student services component.

Essential Job Functions:

The information provided below encompasses the functions and capabilities linked with this position.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for community office hours and after-hours tenant response:

- Work with the Resident Ambassador team to participate in a monthly after-hours on-call rotation

- Serve as on-site responder for after-hours calls and emergencies within 15 minutes from time of call during scheduled on-call times

- Interface with first responders (Police Officers, Public Safety, EMT, Fire Department, etc) for after-hours emergencies

- Assist with basic maintenance requests after hours (i.e. unclogging toilets, turning off water, etc.)

- Submit accurate and timely documentation for after-hours calls, incidents, other building concerns and observations

- Regularly staff and provide customer service to residents in the designated office in the community

- Assist with the management of package and mail systems, including package management software maintenance, storage and organization, and vendor relations with package and mail carriers

- Provide leasing support as needed to include tours and prospect communication

- Coordinate and facilitate a minimum of one community event per month

- Participate in additional projects as assigned by student services leadership

- Maintain a working knowledge of the safety systems and basic routine maintenance skills

- Engage with the community Resident Council as agreed upon at your site

- Maintain continuous communication with site staff in a timely and professional manner

Provides resident support and serves as a leader in the community:

- Provide the highest level of customer service to residents and customers at all times

- Coordinates with site staff to ensure all office and on-call hours are covered

- Attend and participate in bi-monthly 1:1 meetings with manager, and team meetings

- Participate in organization meetings, trainings, and events

- Maintain positive stewardship of CHNW mission and values at all times

- Collaborate with site staff and resident council to address community needs

- Assist with marketing activities and outreach communication aimed at increasing community involvement

- Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

- Must live in the CHNW housing community that the position is located in during the duration of your employment (Please see our rental criteria)

- Experience in Customer Service is preferred, but not required

- Experience in residence life, housing, and/or property management is preferred, but not required

- Experience in leadership, team support, and/or supervision is preferred, but not required

- Organization Skills: You can manage multiple deadlines and priorities simulatanously

- Understand and uphold CHNW policies and procedures as well as basic Landlord/Tenant Laws

Capability Requirements:

Majority of work is completed in a general office environment with exposure to moderate levels of noise in a well-lit, well-ventilated and fast paced environment; continuously required to read computer screen. Minimal travel is required, 5% or less; travel is regional in scope requiring travel by driving.
