DescriptionAccountemps is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a long-term temporary position at a growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Partake in annual closing processes
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Requirements
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills
Vow to meet business deadlines
Strong attention to detail
ERP system experience
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
General ledger experience desired
Deep understanding of journal entries
Foundational knowledge in month end closings
Microsoft Excel experience required
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
