Mennonite Village is a well-respected not-for-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) with a 75+ year history. Housekeepers perform custom cleanings for houses and apartments, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, washing of furniture, floors, windows, and walls, dusting, removal of trash, cleaning of appliances, changing bed linen, and other related tasks.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs custom cleaning of Village homes and Ashwood Court, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, washing of furniture, floors, windows, and walls, dusting, removal of trash, cleaning of appliances, changing bed linen, and other related tasks.
Follows written instructions regarding residents' cleaning preferences.
Follows directions on cleaning chemicals for safe use.
Cleans other areas, such as Lakeside Center, guest houses, etc.
Performs deep cleaning of refurbished Village homes prior to move-in of new residents.
Operates extractor as necessary and cleans extractor after each use.
Makes sure guest house is clean and ready for next occupant and launders guest house linen.
Cleans and disinfects Lakeside Center equipment and floors. Periodically clean LSC spas.
Follows cleaning schedule as assigned.
Attends inservices as recommended by supervisor.
Uses safe work practices; safely operates equipment. Treats equipment with care and provides or arranges for maintenance.
Develops an awareness of and use correct infection control procedures to prevent cross contamination and the spread of disease.
Documents time accurately so that services are billed correctly.
Familiarizes self with residents and reports any resident health changes to supervisor.
Corrects any safety hazards or reports to supervisor. Records incidents, errors, or accidents.
Assists in training new staff members.
Troubleshoots problems with cleaning equipment, golf cart, or with Village homes. Notifies supervisor when problem cannot be corrected.
Requests information and/or assistance when needed.
Launders Ashwood Court bed linen. Launders personal items upon request. Cleans dryer lint trap after each use.
Informs supervisor of changes in schedules.
Regular attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job.
Abides by the HIPAA policies and reports to a supervisor, breaches (or violations) of our HIPAA policies.
Immediately reports identified hazards or hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Immediately reports adverse events and near misses to a supervisor.
Attends mandatory training on HIPPA and compliance annually.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Supportive of the Mennonite Home philosophy.
Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing in English and basic math skills.
Dependable; able to keep on task and on schedule.
Ability to develop trust and rapport with residents.
Ability to work effectively with other housekeepers and supervisor.
Ability to read warning labels of dangerous chemicals to ensure proper handling.
Has a working knowledge of housekeeping equipment, sanitation, chemical mixing, and general safety rules.
Available on-call for emergencies or to fill in for vacations.
Available to work weekends and holidays on rotating shift.
Ability to perform moderate lifting (50 lbs.), prolonged standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting and climbing ladders.
Ability to operate various cleaning equipment.
Ability to safely operate motorized golf cart.
Ability to travel in The Village in all weather conditions.
Ability to make decisions, prioritize workload, and respond appropriately to change.
Ability to use carpet extractor (if assigned to Lydia's House or Ashwood Court).
