Wavery Place Assisted Living is looking for a full-time housekeeper for our Assisted Living community. Monday through Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm.
We are a beautiful new community located in the heart of the beautiful Willamette Valley. We are currently looking for a VERY positive and FRIENDLY Housekeeper.
Must be neat and clean in appearance, have previous housekeeping experience.
Position Responsibilities:
1. To create environments where moments of joy, independence, and wellness are the focus each and every day.
2. Vacuum apartments, common and office areas
3. Dust apartments, common and office areas
4. Empty trash from apartments, common areas, bathrooms and office areas
5. Clean carpet in apartments, common office areas
6. Clean bathrooms in apartments, common and office areas
7. Clean entryway, patios, courtyards and ashtrays
8. Clean sidewalk areas near entryways
9. Clean courtyard furnishings
10. Clean debris from perimeter of the building
11. Any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Administrator
Employment Requirements:
1. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
2. Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses.
3. Function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
4. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with the residents, coworkers and others.
5. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
6. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times, hostile people within the community.
7. Must be able to push, pull and move supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50 pounds)
8. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of the residents.
9. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the day with sitting, standing, bending and lifting.
10. Ability to understand, read, write, and speak the English language.
11. Must be able to relate to the elderly in a positive manner.
12. Must be familiar with cleaning supplies and/or chemicals and their uses.
13. Must possess excellent organizational skills (as he/she is required to complete may duties within an allotted period of time)
14. Must be clean, tidy and appropriately dressed (see dress code).
Universal Precautions:
Exposure to blood/body fluid is likely.
Physical Requirements:
Be able to safely lift 50 pounds independently and more with assistance. Have ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, moving of equipment, climbing, bending and stooping. Requires visual acuity and the ability to interpret requests from residents and staff. Be able to climb stairs and ladders.
Other Requirements:
Routinely performs duties in a safe and conscientious manner. Able to follow instruction, accept constructive criticism, work harmoniously with others, work varied shifts, able to work with ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset residents. Must have knowledge of professional cleaning equipment and supplies.
