Township Building Services is looking to hire part-time janitor in the Corvallis area. This position is responsible for performing janitorial duties. The position is for a 7 day a week site, 1.5 hrs each evening.
Duties include cleaning building floors and stairways, servicing, cleaning and supplying restrooms and locker rooms, cleaning windows, dusting furniture, event set-up/break-down, equipment, and supplies and responding to off the hook and unlock requests from the front desk. Position requires high school diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months experience as a Janitor.
Requirements and Qualifications
⢠Effective English reading and speaking skills are preferred. This includes the ability to speak clearly and fully comprehend written and spoken English, and will include communication with people from whom English is a second language.
⢠Must be at least 18 years of age; possess a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance.
⢠Successful completion of a criminal history background check.
Physical Abilities
⢠Physical strength, agility and endurance to walk/stand for prolonged periods of time.
⢠Bend/reach, lift, pull or push objects weighing up to 50-100 pounds or more.
⢠Climb ladders and operate heavy machinery.
⢠Bend, crouch, and maneuver body in tight, cramped quarters.
⢠Twist body at 45 degree angles.
⢠Wear personal protective and safety gear when appropriate.
⢠Exposure to cleaning agents and chemicals, dust and other environmental conditions is expected in janitorial work.
⢠Furniture moving requires the use of appliance dollies, desk movers, a flatbed truck with lift and physical strength.
