Hey there, I’m a busy Software Engineer, Tinkerer and homeowner looking for a part-time helper to lend a hand around my home workshop and garage. I’ve got a mix of projects going on - organizing the shop, working on cars and bikes, building and installing shop furniture, and other hands-on tasks.
I’m looking for someone who:
- Likes being in a shop or garage setting
- Knows their way around basic tools (or is eager to learn)
- Can take direction but also use common sense and problem-solve
- Shows up on time, stays organized, and takes pride in doing things right
- Is careful enough to not get themselves hurt
The work:
- Organizing tools and shop space - this is the BIG first project
- Helping on car, motorcycle, and mechanical projects (cleaning parts, basic maintenance, etc.)
- Building or installing shop furniture and storage
- General workshop or household projects
- If you have experience with computer hardware, software dev or networking, there are some additional projects that I would consider throwing your way
- Basic cnc and 3d printer maintenance and configuration (firmware updates, lubrication, etc.)
- Assist with Welding and Fabrication
- Sewing / Leather working for all sorts of camping and motorcycle gear
- Project High points: V8 awd s10 blazer, supercharged efi 84 goldwing with printed intake manifold, building a 1 wheeled mc trailer, aluminum framed truck camper, full sheet cnc router, sound proofed computer rack, Engine rebuild and install on a 2013 concours 1400.
Possibly even some of your projects if you can convince me its interesting :D
Pay: $25–$30 an hour depending on experience
Schedule: Mostly weekends, some weeknights – flexible hours
Perfect gig for someone handy who likes building, tinkering, and getting things done. College students, folks in trade school, etc are very welcome to apply!
If you’re interested, shoot me a message with a bit about your experience (or just what you like working on). Photos of past projects are a bonus but not required.
