ReStore Associate/Material HandlerPosition Summary:
The Benton Habitat for Humanity (BHFH) ReStore Associate/Material Handler is responsible for pick up, loading, unloading and processing of donations. Donations include furniture, appliances, building supplies, and more. This position is part time (up to 30 hours per week), and scheduled hours could be between Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Hourly salary is commensurate with experience. Key job functions include:Able to work as a team, and within the policies and procedures of Benton Habitat for HumanityAssist with general store operations and volunteer utilization in coordination with ReStore Manager, including: efficiently handling incoming donations – screening, receiving, sorting, cleaning, repairing, recycling and discarding – in compliance with ReStore policies and procedures.Effectively and professionally interact with customers, donors, volunteers, and staffResponsible for safe operation of company vehicles and equipmentKey qualifications necessary:High school diploma or equivalentMust possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving recordMust have reliable transportationForklift certified or willingness to complete certification within 30 daysExperience handling and moving furniture or similar itemsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities include:Ability to drive box truck in safe, efficient manner to facilitate donations of items to ReStoreAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to safely lift and position up to 75 pounds.Ability to perform work while bending, kneeling and reaching, often in awkward or tiring positions.Ability to operate store equipment in assigned area including computer, forklift, pallet jack, electric lift, etc.Willingness to learn and be committed to the mission of Benton Habitat for Humanity.Ability to work with a diverse spectrum of people from a variety of faith, civic, business, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
