Welder/Fitter
Established in 2001, Western Utility Telecom is a rapidly growing company with a strong record of success. A large part of our success has been due to innovative and creative designs to accommodate specific project structures for today's world.
We are currently looking for qualified Welder/Fitters. Qualified applicants should be able to perform the following duties with a high degree of accuracy and with little or no supervision:
Maintain a clean and safe working environment and a hazard free work place, free of obstructions and obstacles.
Read and interpret drawings.
Layout, cut, and fit material for welding.
Weld structural members using electric arc welding equipment according to customer specifications.
Perform cutting and hole making operations.
Monitor workmanship and trouble shoot non-conformances.
Perform plasma and oxy/fuel cutting processes.
Fabricate special tools, equipment, fixtures, and jigs.
Weld on stationary and non-stationary items utilizing motorized rollers.
Utilize layout techniques for placing parts for weldments.
Work in a safe and careful manner practicing good use of personal protective equipment and exemplary safety when handling or transporting materials.
Ensure that non-conformance reports are prepared, as appropriate, explaining all causes and instances of damages incurred to material, equipment, or the facilities as observed.
Maintain welder qualifications and professional continuity.

Chosen applicants will then be contacted to come in and complete a written and timed skills test as part of the secondary screening process. Those applicants with the highest level of skill will then be contacted for an interview and a practical welding test.

Compensation: $16-$25 per Hour
