Summary/Objective
A stager is responsible for staging each press the inventory and screens needed to complete each job, check the quality of screens, understand the capabilities of each press and printer, streamline the washing out/taping of screens to assure jobs are being filled with a sense of urgency. Assist press operator and sign maker. At times assist embroidery machine operator.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining composed, professional and organized. General clean up.
Responsibilities and Duties
A screen print assistant is responsible for performing some or all of the duties involved in the screen printing process. Duties include but not limited to the following: Must be able to count and prepare T-shirts for printing. Stack, fold & box printed T-shirts. Must be able to count accurately & label T-shirt boxes. Check in merchandise & materials received for production. Prepare screens for T-shirt printing. Clean screens for future orders. Experience working with graphics programs a plus but not required.

Possess excellent communication skills
Must be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple priorities
Follow screen instructions such as location of print on garment, ink color used and head for printing
Mixing and loading ink into screens
Performs detailed visual inspection to determine quality of product
Keeping the machine in a clean condition at the end of every week
Basic knowledge of taping screens
Inspects printed product during press run and communicates and issues found
Notifies supervisor when inspection exceeds acceptable limits or when major incidents of poor quality occur
Sets up press with printing screens and ink for scheduled orders
Removes and cleans ink from screens
Understand the job flow to streamline the process
Ensure that all operations are carried out at the minimum cost consistent with quality standards
Maintains and complies with policies, procedures and practices relating to operations
Assists others as production needs require
Employees must also be willing to handle and mix the chemicals used in the screen print process
Take pride in maintaining a clean and organized work environment at all times
Education/Experience
Education
High School Diploma/GED.
Experience
Experience in a production and/or warehouse environment preferred.
