Part - time; mostly M-Th 8:30 - 2 p.m. but may need to work occasional Friday and possible later afternoons. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Executive Director, the Board of Directors, and Volunteer Mediators. This may include:
Act as a central intake for information requests for mediation services.
Provide information to interested parties about Neighbor-to-Neighbor and the mediation process.
Assign cases to volunteers for case development and mediation for the following mediation programs in Benton & Linn Counties: Victim/Offender, Community, Youth & Family, and Manufactured Dwelling Park.
Recruit volunteers for Small Claims mediation sessions in Benton & Linn Counties. Attend and coordinate volunteers at Linn County Small Claims mediation orientations.
Maintain accurate records for service fees.
Arrange mediation sessions with volunteers, including the scheduling of meeting rooms.
Track caseloads and case assignments
Prepare monthly volunteer report
Report to referring agencies weekly
Conduct follow-up of mediated agreements for Neighbor-to-Neighbor cases.
Provide follow-up to appropriate agency on victim/offender cases and maintain accurate records on restitution.
Enter Neighbor-to-Neighbor case statistics and other Neighbor-to-Neighbor activities in central database.
Maintain accurate database records on volunteer mediators and interested parties.
Provide logistical support for all training activities.
Assist in outreach and publicity activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Must be Computer literate and have experience using Excel, Word, Access and Publisher
Must have a valid divers license
Ability to work independently; often alone in the office
