HOME FURNISHINGS STORE ASSISTANT MANAGER

We have a special opening for an Assistant General Manager for the area’s oldest and largest home furnishings store. We are seeking a candidate with at least 3 years of prior general or sales management experience, and general familiarity with home furnishings products and retail operations.

Duties would include:

Assisting with the general management of a 32,000 sq. ft. home furnishings retail store and 20,000 sq. ft. warehouse distribution center. Management of staff development and performance of 16 person staff. Hiring, training and managing high quality team members that demonstrate efficiency, enthusiasm, professionalism, and customer service performance quality. Coordination of continuing education and coaching of sales staff on products, selling, design, and business operations using company provided performance metrics. Coordinating performance of warehouse delivery staff in preparation and delivery of products, and after sale customer service.

Help develop digital advertising and social media programs and marketing plans. Help develop staff and customer education programs and materials for digital distribution. Coach sales staff on customer prospecting, contact follow-up, and social media marketing. Maintain target sales and margin levels, and other performance parameters in coordination with other management staff.

Assist with vendor merchandise selection and product replenishment within inventory performance goals. Monitor and control unnecessary expenses. Maintain staff compliance with store systems and procedures and governmental regulations.

We are seeking qualified candidates with broad home furnishings experience for this Assistant General Manager position. The position will be responsible for assisting with overall store performance and profitability including store presentation, marketing, sales operations, merchandising, and assuring high customer satisfaction in coordination with the owners, and other managers. Compensation is negotiable based on skills and experience, but would include a base salary of $50,000 -$70,000, plus benefits, and a percentage of net profit, with an optional potential for advancement and equity participation if interested.
