We prefer experienced candidates, but are willing to train the right applicants. We have three positions:
Reporter-Writer
A mix of fast turn daily news and longer enterprises pieces, this is a freelance position that is best for experienced magazine and newspaper candidates. A working knowledge of city and county government is helpful.
Feature Writer
Longer term pieces at larger word counts, this is a freelance position that works directly with our editor to develop projects. Bonus points if you have a scientific background, and excellent research skills.
Trainee
Writing and research skills are required for this contract position. You will learn various journalistic forms, and in simplest terms, how to think like a journalist. You will start with basic writing and reporting assignments. You will work developing stories alongside our reporters and writers.
