About the Programs

Salmon Run RTH/PSRB is a Residential Treatment Home that serves 5 individuals who have a primary diagnosis of serious and persistent mental illness, and are under the jurisdiction of the Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB).

New Roads RTH (est. 2014) serves 5 Young Adults in Transition who have a primary diagnosis of serious and persistent mental illness. New Roads provides housing and a hybrid of intensive mental health and community integration services for 17 to 24 year old Young Adults.

Columbia River Ranch RTF is a residential treatment facility operated by ColumbiaCare Services with clinical services provided by Community Counseling Solutions. Columbia River Ranch has 11 treatment beds and 1 short term crisis resolution bed.

About the Positions

We are looking to hire On Call Mental Health Associates for our Eastern Oregon programs. If you have experience working as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), Residential Assistant (RA), Residential Counselor, Skills Trainer, or Caregiving for a client suffering with mental illness (e.g. memory care unit at an Assisted Living Facility), then this position might be a good fit for you.

Work Schedule: Days/Hours may vary and will likely include weekend & NOC shifts

This position requires that applicants have the ability to work as a member of a direct care team serving adults with severe and persistent mental illness; to support the development of life skills and therapeutic interventions; perform housekeeping and meal preparation; medication administration; and keep accurate clinical documentation. In addition, while we are an organization that does not practice seclusion or restraint, we do still require our direct care staff to successfully complete ourÂVerbal andÂPhysicalÂIntervention (VPI) crisis de-escalation training, which includes performing various physical,Âevasion and safetyÂmaneuvers in class.

Please keep the following things in mind:

On Call staff must work at least 24 hours per month to stay active on our roster

Attend a minimum of one staff meeting per month

Stay current on company training

Respond to facility requesting coverage within 4 hours of initial call. In some cases, more notice can be provided, up to three weeks' advance notice

Qualifications

MUST meet State of Oregon QMHA credentials by one of our following criteria:

a) Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or Human Development;

b) OR minimum THREE (3) YEARS verifiable mental health experience working with SPMI population in a supervised social service setting;

c) OR equivalent combination of behavioral science education in addition to satisfactory supplemental mental health experience and training

With the exception of Columbia River Ranch, QMHA is PREFERRED

The new OARs currently in development by the OHA will include the requirement for all unlicensed QMHPs and QMHAs to obtain certification through the Mental Health & Addictions Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO). At this time, they are offering a grandparenting window for those currently working in these roles.

QMHA Certification: Grandparenting with a Bachelor's Degree:

Previously qualified QMHAs with a baccalaureate degree and 1,000 clinical experience hours (6 months of full-time work in a state approved program) can grandparent into QMHA Basic Certification (QMHA-C). Mental Health Interns qualified as QMHP operating under a variance with an agency collaborative education agreement must register as QMHAs. If you are certified as a peer or a CADC and you are designated as a QMHA, performing QMHA duties, you will need to be certified as a QMHA through MHACBO.

QMHA Certification: Grandparenting without a Bachelor's Degree:

Previously qualified QMHAs without a baccalaureate degree in behavioral health sciences, and 4,000 clinical experience hours (2 full time years of work in a state approved program) can grandparent into QMHA Basic Certification.

Successful applicants MUST have a valid Oregon driver's license, maintain a safe driving record, and the ability to pass a DHS criminal background check.

Pay & Benefits

$15.00-$19.50 per hour/DOE and QMHA credentials. We offer an On Call Incentive Bonus and an additional $1.50 per hour graveyard shift differential will apply during the work hours of 10PM- 6:00am. ColumbiaCare offers a comprehensive benefits package forÂpart-timeÂemployees. Medical/Dental/Vision coverage for employees working 30 hours a week. All Part-Time/On-Call hourly employees receive time and a half when working a holiday and are eligible to receive up to 5 days of sick time and up to 12 days of vacation per year (accruals earned are based on hours worked). Wellness Benefit of up to $400 per year (prorated based on FTE). Our organization is qualified for federal student aid public service loan forgiveness program.
