Shop Mechanic performs maintenance tasks on tractors and harvest equipment including, but not limited to, engine and transmission removal, overhaul, and replacement. Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems. This job also includes welding and fabrication.
Key Accountabilities
Diagnose and perform repairs on tractors and trucks such as engine overhauls, transmission and differential repairs, diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
Maintains all equipment records for the Farm, Fertilizer and Dairy companies.
Prioritizes tasks.
Handles multiple tasks simultaneously.
Handles multiple projects simultaneously.
Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures. Reports all unsafe activities to Shop Manager.
Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.
Maintain equipment records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Experience
Must be able to pass company Motor Vehicle Requirement (MVR) Check
Experience diagnosing and perform repairs on tractors and trucks such as engine overhauls, transmission and differential repairs, diagnose and repair electrical and hydraulic systems.
Welding and fabrication skills including field repairs.
