POSITION SUMMARY: The Product Sales Specialist provides exceptional customer service to volunteers and customers of GSOSW’s product sales programs. The incumbent participates on the product sales team and assists in planning, organizing and implementing the council's product sale campaigns. They provide support to volunteers throughout the region, and provide administrative support, document processing, system updates and reporting. They communicate in person, via phone and email with volunteers - coordinate activities, answer questions and help resolve issues.

JOB DUTIES:

Major Accountabilities:

• Work with the product sales team in the overall planning and implementation of the council product sales programs.

• Coordinate with and provide support to volunteers in assigned geographic area(s) throughout the campaigns.

• Facilitate training of product sale policies, practices and procedures for volunteers and staff.

• Answer telephone calls and emails related to the product sales function and ensure inquiries are responded appropriately.

• Work with other departments to implement the delivery, reporting and collection processes and coordinate activities.

• Prepare correspondence, documents, reports, etc. related to product sales.

• Coordinate activities such as compiling information, handling mailings and arranging meetings.

• This position requires approximately 20% travel throughout the region to attend meetings and events held on evenings and weekends.

QUALIFICATIONS: Required:

• Three years’ work experience in customer service or sales.

Candidate must be able to routinely demonstrate:

• Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Demonstrates ability to resolve conflicts and creatively solve problems.

• Ability to cultivate individual and collaborative relationships with volunteers, while preserving professional boundaries necessary to maintain effective relationships.

• Commitment to diversity and the ability to work effectively with persons of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

• Strong organizational skills. Self-starter, able to meet deadlines with excellent time management skills.

• Strong verbal skills, with experience in public speaking, and strong written communication skills.

• Present numerical data accurately and effectively.

• Ability to gather and analyze information and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Computer proficiency, at an intermediate level, in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends and occasional overnight trips.

• Access to reliable transportation in order to travel within assigned geographic areas. Proof of insurance, a valid driver's license in good standing, and an acceptable driving record required.

• Accept the principles of the Girl Scout Movement as expressed in the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree and minimum of two years’ experience in volunteer management, program design and implementation.

• Bilingual skills (Spanish/English)

• Experience using data management systems such as Salesforce
