The Department of Physical Education and Recreation is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Aerial Silks Yoga at the University of Oregon. This position is a limited duration appointment potentially renewable for up to three years. Course loads will be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
Instructional activities: Attend department orientation meetings and area specific training. Prepare and deliver class content; implement the teaching progressions, strategies, techniques and safety measures outlined by the course calendar; administer assignments and/or tests; follow the course syllabus; keep accurate attendance and performance records; ensure physical participation and help guide improvement through practice. Assign and submit grades as instructed by Office of the Registrar. Implement risk management and safety procedures in the classroom. Understand and follow department and university policies.
This position will have extensive contact with students, faculty and staff as well as employees of PE & Rec.
Qualifications and competencies include: One year of experience, demonstrated expertise and/or certification in the instructors focus area. CPR and First Aid certification or the ability to obtain. Bachelors degree preferred.
