The City of Eugene's Building and Permit Services (BPS) division is looking for an individual who is ready for a challenging and exceptional opportunity to lead a team of professionals whose mission and passion is to ensure a safe built community.
The Building Inspection Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of a team of fourteen highly technical and dedicated employees. The Inspection Team is responsible for ensuring compliance with the State of Oregon Specialty codes, and Eugene's local code. We are looking for an experienced and high-energy supervisor with extensive leadership skills- ready to embrace and foster an internal culture of innovation which focuses on creativity, engagement, learning, and staff development. The candidate will be able to collaborate across all divisional units as well as work strategically with community partners. Of critical importance is an enthusiasm for continual learning, education, innovation, process improvement, technology, and diversity with a focus on performance excellence.
It is essential that the Inspection Supervisor understand the importance of balancing public safety and win-win solutions for the community. The position requires a creative problem-solving mind-set and a focus on quality customer service. The position demands strong interaction with the development and construction community and a genuine desire to establish and foster professional relationships with our internal and external customers.
