Medical Assistant needed for busy and expanding dermatology practice. Full Time.
PURPOSE OF POSITION: Assisting and supporting the dermatologist with all back office duties. Establish and maintain good rapport with patients. Provide excellent care to all patients regardless of the situation.
DUTIES:
Greet patients with a smile and prepare them for their visit with their provider.
Enter patient data and chief complaint into EMR, (EMA).
Assist with dermatological procedures and surgery.
Apply necessary dressings and review wound care with patients.
Handle pathology tissue and results appropriately.
Make and return calls to/from patients.
Work as a team with other surrounding office staff.
Keep rooms stock with supplies and patient educational materials.
Carry out other task, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrate knowledge of a medical practice, care for patients and assisting of a provider. Understand the common safety hazards and precautions necessary needed for this position. Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and good computer skills highly encouraged. Willingness to multi-task and float to other positions when necessary. Good communication with co-workers, providers and patients necessary. Remain calm when stressful circumstances arise.
USUAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Requires full range of body motion including handling and assisting patients. Involves standing and walking for extended period of time. May be asked to help transfer patients onto a exam table.
EDUCATION: Equivalent of high school diploma.
EXPERIENCE: One year of experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Medical Office Certification.
