Seneca is looking to welcome an administrative assistant to its Human Resources team. The HR Assistant will provide confidential administrative support in various Human Resources and Safety processes, including recruitment, training and development, occupational health and safety, benefits and leave administration, and other related areas as required. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized and motivated individual who is looking to build a career in HR.

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

-Associate degree in business, human resources, or similar field plus 2 years of experience providing confidential administrative support OR Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or similar field.

-Experience in human resources or office management is preferred.

-Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

-Strong verbal and written communication skills

-Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

-Strong organizational skills

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Assist with external recruitment, including prescreening applications, scheduling interviews, and/or performing reference checks.

-Assist with internal bid posting process, including collecting bid sheets, conducting prescreen phone calls, and/or scheduling interviews.

-Assist with employee inquiries.

-Process Personnel Action Forms.

-Maintain various logs and reports, including internal promotion log, discipline log, crew matrices, etc.

-Update company-wide TV monitor presentation weekly and as needed.

-Distribute certain company-wide notices, either via direct mailing, email, or HRIS (Paycom).

-Copy and prepare employee packets, including onboarding packets, benefits packets, etc.

-Scan employee records and upload to Paycom to maintain electronic record.

-File documents in physical personnel and medical files.

-Assist with new hire, safety, and benefit orientations as needed.

-Communicate well verbally and in writing with employees, leaders, and the HR group. Effectively communicate and demonstrate all company values and policies.

-Assist with other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

-Mainly indoors with climate control from a seated position

-Must be comfortable with making regular plant tours in all weather conditions and wearing the appropriate PPE
