Galt Foundation is now recruiting for the summer University of Oregon Dorm Cleaning project.
Positions begin June 14th and may last through end of August.
The purpose of these positions is to perform housekeeping, custodial, and janitorial tasks as assigned by crew leader in the rooms of the residence halls to prepare for incoming conference guests and students. The crews work in organized teams and are under direction of crew leader.
Description of duties:
- 90% as part of a team: dusting, washing walls, windows, doors, mirrors, sweeping floors, vacuuming floors, edging carpets, making beds, or other duties as assigned by crew leader.
- 10% Carry supplies, linens, equipment to work area, dilute cleaning products as trained, place information packets in rooms, attend briefing meetings, etc.
Working conditions: Extensive stair climbing, prolonged periods of exertion, long periods on feet and walking, bending, twisting, squatting, gripping, grasping, lifting and carrying up to 35 pounds, kneeling, reaching, stooping, crawling, some ladder work, work performed at a fast pace, buildings are not air conditioned so prolonged periods of working in the heat.
Required guidelines:
Must be 18 years old by June 10th
Maintain good attendance when scheduled
Follow all work procedures as trained
Follow all safety procedures
Follow respectful workplace guidelines
Must attend paid orientation
