POSITION TITLE: Community Resource Specialist
REPORTS TO: Community Service Center Manager
OVERALL SCOPE: This position assesses client needs and program eligibility, provides access to community resources, distributes available resources and provides clerical support to agency staff as necessary.
STATUS: Full-time, non-exempt.
$15.00/hour (additional pay if passes bilingual test)
1.0 FTE Eugene and/or Springfield
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Greet people who call or come into the Service Center with a welcoming attitude.
2. Enter a high volume of client and service information into a centralized database.
3. Answer multi-line telephone, route calls and take messages.
4. Create forms, signs and spreadsheets using MS Office.
5. Provide advocacy, information and referral.
6. Disburse agency resources (i.e. bus passes, hygiene items, ID assistance), as available.
7. Maintain a professional and positive attitude when working with partner agencies and volunteers.
8. Clean and sanitize Service Center facility and grounds.
9. Other duties and tasks as assigned/necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to communicate effectively with persons in crisis and treat a wide variety of people kindly and respectfully. (Bilingual Spanish/English preferred)
2. Experience as a receptionist or similar customer service position preferred.
3. Ability to prioritize tasks and be multi-task oriented.
4. Successfully pass a criminal background check.
5. Able to represent a Catholic, faith-based organization in a positive and professional manner.
