Produce/Front Register Clerk at Friendly Street Market
Friendly Street Market is in the heart of the Friendly Neighborhood. Our employees strive to provide a positive shopping experience in a warm and welcoming environment. Our standards are to provide as much organic, local and specialty produce/products as we can.
We are looking for someone to join our wonderful team that can work shifts in both the produce department and shifts closing the store as a front register clerk. In both positions, this person must be comfortable interacting with customers and can provide impeccable customer service.
As a Produce Clerk, this person must be self-motivated and be able to prioritize a list of duties. Required to clean, trim, package, display and rotate produce products throughout shift. Prior produce and/or farm related experience is a plus. Knowledge of or willingness to train on how to properly handle and display produce. Must be able to follow direction and work as supportive part of a team.
As a Front Register Clerk, this person will be checking customers out on a POS system, processing payments and handling money, bagging customers groceries, checking in vendors and receiving product, facing and stocking shelves, assisting customers in answering question and directing them to products they may be looking for, help maintain cleanliness of store, answering phone calls and directing them to proper departments over an intercom. Must have prior customer service experience.

Physical requirements of standing, twisting, bending and lifting of 25-50 lb’s

Strong work ethic and integrity
OLCC license is required
Previous experience working in a grocery store or with a farm is a plus.
Must have a flexible open schedule. Both these positions would require working evenings and/or weekends.
