Our Ideal Candidate Duties and Responsibilities

Motivates staff members to achieve and uphold the highest standards of excellence in service across all departments: Massage/Body, Esthetics, Nails, and Front Desk.

Recruits the best possible staff members available and nurture existing employees to reach and exceed client expectations. Provides benchmarks and coaching for continuous improvement. Maintains staff relationship with work according to employee handbook and rules and ensures professional expectations between all staff members.

As leader, builds a strong, collaborative team and operates as a team player. Leads staff meetings and sets agenda addressing staff and client concerns and solutions.

Prepares and controls costs, increase revenues and improve the bottom line". Provides accountant with invoice and receipt details for purchases. Purchases supplies and inventory. Prepares payroll twice a month for accountant to process.

Represents the company in developing relationships with partners in the neighborhood and in marketing initiatives and public relations.

Oversees the functions of human resources-including scheduling, vacation, sick leave and other policies and procedures of the spa. Comfortable with evaluating and providing constructive feedback to staff. Diffusing conflict if needed.

Provides input and direction for the growth and development of retail product sales including but not limited to product selection, staff training, inventory control, marketing and promotion of retail items.

Develops strategies for reaching new niches through creative and strategic marketing initiatives in all areas, works to achieve the vision of the spa's owner.

Skills and Specifications

Strong organizational skills. Self-starter.

Strong communication skills. Comfortable providing empathy and balance with discipline when needed.

Strong business skills: comfort with managing numbers and proven track record for increasing business and achieving/exceeding financial goals.

Comfortable training others and evaluating performance based on expectations given to them.

Management skills and comfortable delegating and providing direction to staff and support.

Collaborating with Owner for positive changes needed in operations and facility, planning staff events, executing marketing events. On-going reporting to Owner regarding performance and morale of staff, client feedback and costs.

College Degree; preferably in a related field.

Computer literacy and comfortable with spreadsheets.

Maintain strong desire to help others through the healing benefits of spa services.

Bonus: Knowledge of spa operations or other retail operations and all that entails experience in successfully managing teams.

Bonus: A minimum of five years working in the spa industry with at least two of which were in a leadership position.
