Position Summary:
Our Platform Engineering team is rapidly growing and adding DOMO as one of our enterprise platform offerings. We’re looking for looking for a Business Intelligence Platform Engineer(s) to be part of a fast paced, high-energy team. Our platform engineers are serious about the success of the company and are given the tools and environment they need to succeed. This team will have primary responsibility to manage a global implementation of the DOMO analytics platform. This team will have oversight of specific system administration functions of our DOMO instance(s) including set up of the DOMO interface, security administration, data egress pipelines, lifecycle management of data sets, user administration, data acquisition, on-going operations, standard operating procedures and end user communications.
We will be work closely with BI Developers to get data into DOMO, build self-service data sets in DOMO, and data integrity validation.
Must be able to fully grasp the complexity of administration and data management in a dynamic innovative fast-paced environment. Must have the ability to promote user adoption thru positive influence and stakeholder alignment. You will also possess excellent troubleshooting and follow through skills
The goal is to ensure that the DOMO instance is controlled and secure while providing high value service to its end users and the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with customers, technical architects, and consultants to define the data requirements and structure for Business Intelligence (BI) applications
  • Design and implement highly scalable data pipeline architectures required to deliver curated data sets.
  • Develop strategies with other Technology and Business teams to optimize the usage and efficiency of DOMO's data analysis platform, and efficient data egress governance and cost control
  • Assisting in troubleshooting of issues in the DOMO and DOMO Workbench environment, act as liaison to DOMO Support
  • Develop methods and tools to monitor the performance and reliability of DOMO's data analysis platform
  • Work with our technology teams to aggregate large data sets for use within DOMO solutions
  • Work with technology and business teams to create reusable self-service data sets in DOMO
  • Setup and maintain of DOMO Workbench jobs and workbench environment
  • Validation and deployment of self-service cards/dashboards
  • Manage and administer all requests for user and group account creation, deletion and maintenance (onboarding, offboarding, account changes) per Compliance guidelines
  • Improve and promote operational scalability and standardization across the DOMO landscape
  • Create tools and processes to automate administration and monitoring
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues with the production data pipelines, DOMO cards and dashboards
  • Diagnose OS, network and storage issues as required to maintain operational stability
  • Work with DOMO Cloud Ops. to optimize and manage virtual & hardware resources
  • Manage Service Level Agreement standards for customer data sources
  • Coordinate the testing and release of new DOMO software versions with Technology and Business teams
  • Liaise with our Data Warehouse team to manage and optimize data feeds into the system
  • Analyze and track and maintain compliance with self-service usage policies
  • Execute administrator level activities for card and dataset certification
  • Manage the self-service relationships helping Technology Team and Power Users access the data they need to make business decisions
  • Documentation of DOMO technical architecture, Standard Operating Policy(s)

Skills/Abilities and Education Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience administering business intelligence systems in a Business Intelligence or ETL Developer role, preferably with DOMO.
  • 2-3 years of DBA experience with Teradata, SnowFlake MSSQL, Oracle, MySQL Postgres
  • Experience in configuration and support of DOMO advanced analytics including integration of support tasks such as SSO configuration, data source setup and administration
  • Extensive experience in DOMO and DOMO Workbench highly preferred
  • Must have familiarity with administrative support functions in DOMO
  • Must have experience calling APIs to get data , preferably using DOMO APIs
  • Experience with horizontal scaling, and with delivering Software as a Service
  • Experience dealing with very large data sets
  • Knowledge of and experience with both row-based and column-based database platforms
  • Experience with ETL and BI/Reporting
  • Experience with AGILE and SCRUM methodologies
  • Ability to communicate and interface with technical and non-technical members of the organization
  • Working knowledge in development tools and processes, such as source control, requirement spec, design and design review, debugging, unit test, system test, performance test, etc
  • Experience with end-to-end DOMO dashboard development
  • Experience with at least one of the following cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform
  • Prior experience with development experience with one of the following: Perl, Python, Shell Scripts and SQ
  • Experience working with DOMO Connectors is a plus

Nice to Have:
  • Experience working with APIs and Streaming Data
  • Experience working with Web Technologies (Javascript, Html, CSS)
  • Experience with a wide variety of business data (Marketing, Finance, Operations, etc)
  • Understanding of Data Science, Data Modeling and analytics

What Part Will You Play?
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to create a unified strategy for Google Cloud Platform and Azure cloud transformation governance, automation, security, implementation, and operations
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture teams to develop target cloud solution architecture patterns and system requirements, analyze existing application and IT deployments, propose requirements and designs, craft an automation approach, drive implementation
  • Design, prototype and deliver Google Cloud Platform and Azure cloud-native solutions, leverage platform rich service offerings
  • Design, prototype, and implement cloud landing zones for Monetary Systems’ applications
  • Participate and drive gathering of technical requirements for deployment through a variety of techniques (e.g., facilitated workshops, work sessions for major initiatives; performs technical analysis with the team and design cloud best practices
  • Prepare cloud guidance, standards, requirements, design, and ensure that the end product is aligned to the cloud strategy and overall enterprise architecture standards
  • Develop and implement strategies for moving on-premise software to the cloud
  • Experience designing, building, maintaining, and securing cloud microservices, IaaS and PaaS solutions for highly available business critical cloud-based systems
  • Experience automating configuration management and deploying PaaS solutions in private and public cloud using any of the following IaC tools: Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, Docker, etc.
  • Drive cloud security and compliance requirements into the cloud architecture framework, including for the data integration points with on-premise and other cloud systems
  • Present technical concepts and specific solutions to internal audiences of varying technical capabilities in a clear, concise and easily understood manner
  • Be the evangelist of cloud architecture and influence BTS leaders to adhere to the architectural framework and its principles
  • Champion and the advocate of adoption of best design practices and ensure cloud products are built consistently aligned to the expressed cloud architecture
  • Provide reference implementations and sample repositories that can be utilized by BTS
  • Maintain and advance deep technical skills and knowledge, keeping up to date with market trends and competitive insights, and share within the technical community

What Are We Looking For in This Role?

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required in Computer Science or Engineering, Master's Degree preferred
  • 7+ years of experience in designing and driving the implementation of large-scale commercial enterprise-class cloud software, using cloud principles and architectural patterns
  • Avid technologist, with deep expertise in Google Cloud Platform, Azure cloud, and/or other public/private/hybrid cloud architecture domains
  • Strong foundational infrastructure skills, including architecture principles and design patterns of distributed systems in private and public cloud
  • Proficiency in modern software architecture, scalability, reliability and in RESTful APIs and how they are used in the cloud
  • Working experience developing solutions with cloud orchestration tools
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform IaaS and PaaS technologies and solution implementation patterns
  • Strong aptitude for collaboration and ability to lead and influence a team of leaders, as well as mentor engineers
  • Experience and understanding of large scale infrastructure deployments in enterprise-wide environments required

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience evaluating existing application design and making recommendations for enhancing applications to leverage cloud technology and services
  • Experience having successfully guided the refactoring of a large monolithic application into multiple, micro-services
  • Working experience with modern development and delivery methodologies such as Agile and CI/CD and ability to apply these processes fit for purpose
  • Working knowledge with implementing and managing Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Working knowledge in container and container management technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, DC/OS)
  • Working knowledge in either SQL (Oracle, SQL Server, other) or NoSQL (Cassandra, HBase, MongoDB, Cloudera Impala, Dynamo, Redis, other)
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic, able to multi-task and ability to work well under pressure
  • Written and verbal communication skills, including group leadership and executive presentations
  • Working knowledge of the payment processing industry
  • Experience with data management and data integration technologies (Kafka, Hadoop, Spark, other) is required
