NAVIS is excited to be hiring an experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist in our Bend, Oregon offices! (Relocation assistance is being offered, as needed.)

The Payroll and Benefits Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day administration and accurate processing of NAVIS payroll and benefits. This position serves as the main point-of-contact for all NAVIS employee payroll and benefits questions.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process and reconcile payroll on a bi-weekly basis to include garnishments, deductions, withholdings, paid and unpaid leave adjustments and accruals, variable compensation, and other payroll related functions
Update and maintain all employee information accurately within the payroll system, employee benefits platform and employee hard files as reported in Employee Status Change forms and Offer Letters.
Work closely with Human Resources and other departments on all applicable payroll and benefits matters
Review Employee Status Change forms as presented by Human Resources and approve/decline as appropriate
Respond to requests for verifications of employment
Reconcile monthly benefit plan enrollments to ensure accurate reporting and deductions for eligible employees and reconcile monthly insurance billings for Accounts Payable
Resolve complex payroll issues through analysis of data, payroll/accounting principles, and critical thinking skills
Validate accurate and timely annual and quarterly payroll reporting
Reconcile and process variable compensation plans for Contact Center
Work closely with Contact Center Director on variable compensation plan changes to ensure wage compliance and feasibility of processing
Handle all state and federal payroll setup, reporting, and inquiries regarding income and taxes
Prepare materials and presents information to small and large groups for matters relating to payroll, benefits for new hire orientation and open enrollment
Administer and track employee benefit programs to include health insurance, 401(k), flexible spending plans, life and disability insurance, COBRA, and other related benefits
Work closely with benefit vendors, partners, and stakeholders on various payroll and benefit reports
Prepare documentation for annual 401(k) audit by working with vendor as well as CPA on required materials
Maintain retention compliance for terminated employee files
Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential and secure
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Accounting or 4 years of experience processing multi-state payroll and benefits and/or combination of education and experience
Intermediate payroll software skills required; Paylocity experience preferred
Intermediate knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations and wage and hour laws
Working knowledge of, and ability to apply, payroll best practices
Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills and experience creating, maintaining, and processing payroll and benefit related reports
Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines in an efficient and effective manner
Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills with experience interacting with all levels of management, as well as the employee population as a whole
Solid decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Excellent data entry skills with superior attention to detail
Ability to analyze information and processes and suggest improvements
