Join the OCDC team as a Family Advocate 2 with some responsibilities of Family Advocate 3! This position provides program case management services to children and families that include health, social services, literacy, and training in compliance to Head Start Performance Standards, federal and state regulations. This position also works with our community partner The Klamath Tribes to enroll children and maintain children records. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct enrollment procedures and identify and address immediate needs
Gather child health and development information and conduct health screenings
Conduct home visits
Assess individual family strengths and needs to assist families in setting and achieving goals
Connect families to needed resources in the community
Coordinate and facilitate case management meetings
Efficiently compile, document, and sort data related to program services and individual family case management
Participate in program's recruitment activities
Encourage parents to participate in program activities
Participate, and encourage parents to participate, in local community advocacy and support networks that provide services to children and familiesEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Family Advocate II:
AA/AS degree or higher in health, social work/services, psychology, sociology, or related field
OR
High School Diploma / GED and a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA) with 1 year health and/or social service experience
OR
High School Diploma / GED and a Social Services Basic Training Certification (SSCBT) with 1 year health and/or social services experience
OR
An equivalent combination of education (minimum High School Diploma / GED) and three years’ experience in a health or social services fieldREQUIRED SKILLS:
Bilingual required (Spanish) BENEFITS:
